Libra New Moon
Today’s New Moon at 28° Libra is the first New Moon in Libra since the series of eclipses in Libra and Aries 2023-2025. The Sun and Moon are in 3° orb to a square to Pluto at 1° Aquarius and 4° orb to Jupiter at 24° Cancer. The Pluto trine to Uranus at 0° Gemini is loosely tied in to this New Moon, accentuating the imprint of endings and new beginnings that New Moon cycles symbolize. In the sign of Libra, the focus is on relationship and relational patterns, releasing outdated patterns of relating that are no longer viable with what will be emerging in the coming cycles of time. In the northern hemisphere, Libra season — the sign of exaltation of Saturn and the fall of the Sun — harkens the opening of Autumn Equinox and the beginning of the decline of the light as the days shorten and nights lengthen. Like the leaves falling from the trees, the invitation to practice gentle and effortless release of what we are ready to shed moves through the quality of time. The domicile of Venus, in her home sign of Libra, is brightened by ease of connection grounded in truth, harmony without people-pleasing, justice without compromising belonging, balance of relationship and authenticity of self. An affirmation for this New Moon: may I be fortified through my relationships, first with myself and my intimate connection with the divine light within, and then with beloveds with whom I can share my authentic self in the struggle toward collective liberation.
